Manager Lloyd McClendon didn't call it a platoon, but that's how he described it. "I think the combination of both of those guys out there should produce a left fielder where you have a combination of 20-25 home runs and 100-plus RBIs," McClendon said. "Now, you've got something." A platoon was an obvious option when the Mariners signed Weeks to play outfield, but McClendon's description makes it seem likely to happen.
