Analysis:

A recent CT scan showed steady improvement in Cabrera's ankle, and he was cleared to start hitting shortly thereafter. He's slowly ramping up his running program and is believed to be at least a week away from resuming field work. Cabrera said earlier this week that he will only need about 50-to-60 spring at-bats to prepare for the regular season.
