Cabrera is expected to play around the infield early in spring training, but will also get a look in the outfield later on, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Analysis:

Cabrera has had a rocky offseason, but with his legal issues stemming from a driving under the influence of marijuana charge behind him, he can now focus on getting in some work with his new team. If Cabrera can show enough versatility, he should be able to nab a utility spot at the very least. General manager Dan Duquette also hinted that the team plans to put him at a spot in the order which would allow him to get on base in front of the power hitters.
