Joseph remains the favorite to back up Matt Wieters at the beginning of the season, MASN Sports reports.

Analysis:

Joseph spent half the year as the primary catcher in 2014 after the Orioles lost Wieters for the season. It was a bit of a surprise since he spent most of the prior three seasons at Double-A. Joseph is a defense-first catcher who hit a measly .207/.264/.354, but at least had a serviceable nine home runs in 246 at-bats. Playing time will be sparse as long as Wieters is healthy.
