Votto (quadriceps) arrived to Reds camp Saturday, ahead of Monday's full-squad report date, and said he feels "good," MLB.com reports. "I haven't gone through the evaluation process with the strength staff and the [physical therapy] staff and the doctor and obviously, the baseball people," Votto said when asked if he is 100 percent without limitation. "If I get a couple of days under my belt and get the evals done, I think we'll have a better idea of where we're at."

Analysis:

The 31-year-old said that he is swinging, throwing, taking groundballs and running without issue, noting that he feels like "it's a big contrast from the end of the season and during the season last year." He will leave it up to the medical staff to determine just how much he can do at the start of spring training, but the offseason reports regarding Votto's progress from the distal quadriceps strain were glowing, and there's little reason at this point to think he won't be ready to start the season.
