The Los Angeles Angels have avoided arbitration with Garrett Richards by agreeing to a one-year contract, reports CBS Sports' Jon Heyman.
Richards will earn $3.2 million in 2015.
The right-hander requested $3.8 million and the club countered with a $2.4 million offer when the two sides exchanged salary expectations.
The 26-year-old went 13-4 with a 2.61 ERA in 26 starts before suffering a serious knee injury.
Richards hopes to begin throwing off a mound in the second week of February and his goal is to be ready for the season opener.
