Mejia (hernia) signed a one-year, $2.595 million deal to avoid arbitration with the Mets, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports.

Analysis:

Mejia was said to be seeking a substantial salary increase prior to the 2015 season, and he got his wish, as the reliever will make nearly five times his 2014 pay. The right-hander will have to hold off Jeurys Familia and Bobby Parnell (elbow) in the spring to retain the Mets' closer job.
