The Houston Astros avoided arbitration with infielder Marwin Gonzalez by agreeing to a one-year contract, the team announced Friday.

Gonzalez will earn $1.0625 million in 2015, according to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman.

Gonzalez asked for $1.4 million and the Astros countered with a $900,000 offer when the team's exchanged salary figures.

The 25-year-old hit .277 with six home runs and 23 RBIs in 103 games.
