Analysis:
Schafer was an afterthought while with the Braves last season, logging just 80 at-bats in 63 games over the first four months of the season. The 28-year-old was given a chance at regular time after joining the Twins on a waiver claim in August, and he made the most of the opportunity, batting .285/.345/.362 with 15 steals (20 attempts) in 41 games. A starting role to begin 2015 is still by no means guaranteed, but Schafer should compete for the job in center during spring training.
