Tulowitzki (hip) resumed infield work this week, MLB.com reports. "He's swinging fully, he's taking batting practice in the cage, and this week he's starting to add taking ground balls in the infield and really starting to ramp up the pure baseball activity," Rockies GM Jeff Bridich said.

Analysis:

Manager Walt Weiss said last month that Tulowitzki was ahead of schedule in his recovery from August hip surgery, and it sounds like the four-time All-Star is continuing to make steady progress. Tulowitzki was in Denver last week for a routine checkup and "everything's great," according to Bridich. It seems Tulowitzki is on track for spring training, though Weiss cautioned that both Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez (knee) likely won't play a lot in the Cactus League. "It's smart not to play these guys a lot in the spring, since I see them playing a lot during the season," Weiss said.
