Johnson was among the players invited to the White Sox's spring training camp, ESPN Chicago reports.

Analysis:

Johnson attended White Sox camp last spring, but he had little chance of making the roster with Gordon Beckham and Marcus Semien ahead of him on the organizational depth chart. His chances are slightly better heading into 2015 now that Beckham and Semien are both gone, but the team's starting second base role is far from guaranteed. He must beat out fellow prospect Carlos Sanchez for the job, and the club could always give the reins to Emilio Bonifacio if it feels neither Johnson nor Sanchez is ready.
