Tomlin and the Indians agreed to a one-year, $2.5 million deal Friday, avoiding arbitration.

Analysis:

Despite his stellar 6.71 K/BB ratio, Tomlin was knocked around to the tune of a 4.76 ERA and 1.6 HR/9 last season. He will have to compete in spring training for the fifth rotation spot.
