The Cincinnati Reds reached a contract agreement with Mike Leake for the 2015 season on Friday, settling on a $9.775-million deal with the 27-year-old, reports MLB.com's Mark Sheldon.

Leake - the eighth overall pick in 2009 - enjoyed another fine campaign with the Reds last season, crafting a 3.70 ERA (97 ERA+) over a career-high 214 1/3 innings while making at least 30 starts for a third consecutive season.

Leake, a free agent after 2015, also managed the 12th-highest ground-ball rate among qualified starters (53.4 percent) while allowing just seven home runs over 99 1/3 innings at Great American Ballpark, a notoriously hitter-friendly stadium.
