The Chicago White Sox have avoided arbitration with right-hander Jeff Samardzija by agreeing to a one-year contract, reports CBS Sports' Jon Heyman.
Samardzijia, who was acquired from the Oakland Athletics in early December, will make $9.8 million for his services in 2015.
The 29-year-old compiled a 7-13 record with an impressive 2.99 ERA in 33 starts for the Chicago Cubs and A's in 2014.
