The Los Angeles Dodgers settled on a one-year, $2.3-million deal with right-hander Juan Nicasio on Friday, just minutes before the deadline to exchange arbitration figures, reports Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.

Nicasio spent four seasons with the Colorado Rockies following his 2011 debut, but was traded to Los Angeles earlier this offseason for minor-league outfielder Noel Cuevas.

Nicasio crafted a career-worst 5.38 ERA with a 1.47 WHIP over 14 starts and 19 relief appearances last season, managing a measly 15.4 percent strikeout rate while yielding 1.8 homers per nine innings.

The 28-year-old is expected to serve as the Dodgers' long-relief option out of the bullpen in 2015.
