Report: Braves no longer in running to sign Brandon Beachy

Should Brandon Beachy manage to revive his MLB career in 2015, it reportedly won't be with the Atlanta Braves.

Beachy, whose career has been derailed by ceaseless injuries in recent years, was non-tendered by the Braves earlier this offseason, but subsequent reports suggested Atlanta remained interested in retaining the 28-year-old.

It appears, however, that Beachy will have to re-establish himself elsewhere, as Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish reported Thursday the Braves are no longer in the running to sign the oft-injured right-hander.

Beachy missed the entire 2014 season after undergoing the second Tommy John surgery of his career, and has logged a mere 111 innings in the majors since the beginning of 2012. Despite his dubious medical history, Beachy has still reportedly drawn interest from as many as 10 teams this offseason.

Over parts of four seasons in the majors, Beachy owns a 3.23 ERA (121 ERA+) with a 3.20 strikeout-to-walk ratio across 46 starts.
