Report: Dan Haren holding out for trade to Angels or Padres

Jayne Kamin-Oncea / USA TODAY Sports

Dan Haren does not want to leave the state of California.

The right-hander is holding out hope for a trade to the Los Angeles Angels or San Diego Padres before deciding on whether or not to retire, reports CBS Sports' Jon Heyman.

The Los Angeles Dodgers dealt Haren away to the Miami Marlins on Dec. 10 as part of a seven-player deal. Haren expressed his desire earlier last month to remain in L.A. and stated he would consider retirement should the Dodgers trade him to any team but the Angels.

The 12-year veteran is owed $10 million in 2015 and went 13-11 with a 4.02 ERA in 32 starts for the Dodgers.
