Report: Bud Selig to receive $6-million salary in retirement

Commissioner Bud Selig won't be in power for much longer, but he'll reportedly stay very rich in retirement.

The outgoing commissioner of Major League Baseball is set to receive an annual salary of $6 million after he steps down from his post next month, according to ESPN's Buster Olney. Selig, 80, will be officially replaced Jan. 25 by his long-time aid Rob Manfred.

Despite the high figure of Selig's so-called pension, his retirement income pales in comparison to his reported earnings of at least $22 million. 

Manfred, MLB's Chief Operating Officer, was elected baseball's 10th commissioner in August and secured a five-year term last month.
