The Kansas City Royals augmented their rotation depth Monday afternoon by signing 30-year-old right-hander Yohan Pino to a one-year deal, the team announced.

Pino, who signed as an amateur free agent in 2004, made his MLB debut with the Minnesota Twins last year after nine seasons in the minor leagues. The Venezuela native crafted a 5.07 ERA (78 ERA+) over 11 stats with the Twins, though he fashioned a solid 3.57 strikeout-to-walk ratio across 60 1/3 innings.

Pino also logged 73 innings for the Twins' affiliate in the Triple-A International League in 2014, managing a 2.47 ERA over nine starts and seven relief appearances while striking out roughly one batter per inning.
