Report: Nationals discussing Clippard, Detwiler with multiple clubs

Both Tyler Clippard and Ross Detwiler are primed for raises in 2015, and it appears the Washington Nationals would like to unload at least one of the arbitration-eligible hurlers this offseason, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

Clippard enjoyed another dominant season as the club's setup man in 2014, crafting a 2.18 ERA over 75 appearances while managing a gaudy 29.5 percent strikeout rate. Though the 29-year-old remains one of baseball's best relievers, the Nationals may prefer to trade Clippard, who's projected to make $9.3 million next season.
Detwiler, meanwhile, was relegated to the bullpen last season after the Nationals acquired Doug Fister in December, and the left-hander admitted last month that his future with the club remains "up in the air." The 28-year-old is projected to earn $3.3 million next season and is tentatively penciled into a long-relief role.
