Report: Reds sign Josh Satin to minor-league deal

Noah K. Murray / USA TODAY Sports

The Cincinnati Reds reportedly signed corner infielder Josh Satin to a minor-league deal on Saturday, according to Adam Rubin of ESPN.

Selected in the sixth round of the 2008 amateur draft, Satin spent the first four years of his major league career with the New York Mets before the team outrighted him off the 40-man roster late last month.

The 29-year-old failed to make an impact with the Mets over 116 games, slashing .243/.346/.351 in 251 career at-bats while hitting three home runs and striking out 82 times.

Satin appeared in 25 games in 2014, going 3-for-35 before suffering a fractured right wrist in late September.
