Tigers designate Ezequiel Carrera for assignment

The Detroit Tigers announced they've designated outfielder Ezequiel Carrera for assignment on Monday in order to make room on their 40-man roster.
Signed as a free agent by the Tigers in January, the 27-year-old appeared in 45 games in 2014, slashing .261/.301/.348 with four doubles and 14 strikeouts.
