Angels designate left-hander Michael Roth for assignment

The Los Angeles Angels designated left-hander Michael Roth for assignment Thursday, Mike DiGiovanna of the LA Times reports.

Analysis:

Roth pitched well with Double-A Texas last year, but he owns a 7.79 ERA in 22 major league appearances, so the Angels decided to take him off the 40-man roster.
