Braves designate Venters, Pena for assignment

Jonny Venters (elbow) and second baseman Ramiro Pena have been designated for assignment by the Atlanta Braves, according to the club's transactions page.
The Braves also purchased the contract of the following players: Mauricio Cabrera, Williams Perez, Kyle Kubitza, Tyrell Jenkins, Jose Peraza, Brandon Cunniff and Yean Carlos Gil.
Analysis:
Venters has already had three elbow reconstruction procedures in his career, and it this point, it's unclear if he'll continue to rehab in the minors, or call it quits on his MLB career.
