Braves president of baseball operations John Hart acknowledged Monday that Gattis moving to left field next season is "definitely a possibility," the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Analysis:

A move to left is looking like more than a possibility for Gattis in light of Jason Heyward's trade to St. Louis, but Hart isn't willing to set anything in stone just yet, saying only that it's "an option." Justin Upton will presumably move over to right field to take over for Heyward -- though there remains a possibility he could be dealt -- and with Gattis possibly moving out from behind the plate, the door is open for 23-year-old Christian Bethancourt to step in as the primary catcher for Atlanta. Gattis figures to still see occasional starts behind the dish when Bethancourt needs a breather, and he should be catcher eligible in most fantasy leagues at least in 2015.
