Braves haven't had extension negotiations with Heyward or Justin Upton

Brett Davis / USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Braves could be without two-thirds of their current outfield in 2016.

Both Jason Heyward and Justin Upton have one year remaining on their deals and Braves president John Hart told David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that there hasn't been any conversation with either player regarding an extension and that both are expected to either hit free agency or be traded.

Heyward, who has spent his entire five-year career with the Braves, expressed last week that he is open to signing an extension in Atlanta. The 25-year-old won his second Gold Glove last season, in addition to hitting .271/.351/.384 with 11 home runs and 58 RBIs in 149 games. Heyward is set to earn $7.8 million in 2015.

Upton spent the last two years with the Braves and will earn $14.5 million next season. The 27-year-old enjoyed one of the best seasons of his eight-year career in 2014, hitting .270/.342/.491 with 29 home runs and 101 RBIs.

Atlanta has received trade interest in Upton, however, he does possess the option to block a deal to the Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers, Toronto Blue Jays and Cleveland Indians.
