Report: Giants remain favorite to sign Pablo Sandoval

A reunion between free agent Pablo Sandoval and the San Francisco Giants appears increasingly likely.

The market for Sandoval's services appears to be limited to two clubs, and the Giants remain the favorite to sign the 28-year-old third baseman who's also piqued the interest of the Boston Red Sox, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

Sandoval's representatives have met with several teams thus far at the general managers' meetings, but interest from the Chicago White Sox and Toronto Blue Jays seems limited.

Though an earlier report suggested the Boston Red Sox were very interested in the two-time All-Star, the club is also exploring other options at third base. The Giants consequently remain the front-runner to sign Sandoval barring an aggressive play from the Red Sox, though general manager Ben Cherington said he had a constructive conversation Tuesday with Sandoval's agent.

Sandoval, who boasts a 123 OPS+ over parts of seven seasons in the major leagues, is reportedly seeking at least a six-year deal this winter that will likely hover around $100 million in overall value.
