Report: Blue Jays' Lind generating interest from multiple clubs

Rick Osentoski / USA TODAY Sports

Toronto Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos reportedly will have no shortage of suitors should he chose to deal first baseman/designated hitter Adam Lind.

“I hear the Blue Jays are getting a lot of interest on Lind and not just from American League teams. I’ve heard three or four clubs,” one executive told Bob Elliott of the Toronto Sun

Injuries limited the 31-year-old to 96 games this season, but when healthy, Lind hit .321/.381/.479 with six home runs and 40 RBIs. Lind, however, was miserable against left-handed pitching, slashing .061/.162/.061 with 11 strikeouts in 33 at-bats.

While his power numbers dipped in 2014, the nine-year veteran has hit at least 23 home runs in four of the last six seasons.

Toronto holds a $7.5 million team option for 2015 with a $1 million buyout and an $8 million option with a $500,000 buyout for 2016.
