The San Francisco Giants have gotten to Kansas City Royals fireballer Yordano Ventura early on in Game 2 of the World Series.
The rookie opened with seven fastballs to Giants leadoff man Gregor Blanco, and attempted to blow an eighth heater by him, which Blanco deposited in the seats in right field.
The leadoff blast was the first ever in Giants' World Series history.
Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia was the last player to deliver an opening homer in a World Series, which took place back in Game 1 of the 2007 Fall Classic.
