Hunter Pence looked quite at home in Game 1 at Kauffman Stadium for a guy who didn't know which state Kansas City was in prior to the World Series.
The San Francisco Giants right fielder - who admitted he thought Kansas City was in Kansas not Missouri - entered Tuesday 0-for-11 against Royals starter James Shields. However, Pence exorcised those demons early in the game by going 2-for-2 off the right-hander.
Pence located a 93-mph fastball in the first inning and drove it over the center-field wall for a two-run home run to increase the lead to 3-0. He followed it up three innings later with a leadoff double.

The unorthodox Pence would finish the game 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs and two walks.
