We gathered the best photos from Game 1 of the World Series, a 7-1 San Francisco Giants win over the Kansas City Royals.

A shot of Kauffman Stadium prior to the first World Series game in Kansas City since 1985.

Salvador Perez tags out Buster Posey at the plate in the first inning. Posey tried to score from first base on an RBI double from Pablo Sandoval.

Hunter Pence made sure to get that run back and more. Pence followed Sandoval by launching a two-run homer to center field to give the Giants a 3-0 lead.

Giants ace Madison Bumgarner delivers a pitch in his third career World Series start. Bumgarner continued his dominant postseason run, throwing seven innings of one-run ball.

The Giants continued pounding Royals ace James Shields in the fourth. Michael Morse shows some emotion after hitting an RBI single off Shields to put San Francisco ahead 4-0. Morse was the last batter Shields faced.

Shields reacts after getting pulled in the fourth inning. The righty allowed five runs on seven hits.

Bumgarner recovers an Eric Hosmer comebacker and throws the Royals first baseman out.

Nori Aoki misplayed a ball in right field in the seventh inning and grimaces as it goes past him. A run scored on Joe Panik's triple, giving San Francisco a 7-0 lead.

Posey congratulates reliever Hunter Strickland, who worked a clean ninth inning to help secure the Giants victory.

This sums up the kind of night it was for Royals fans.
