Christian Colon: Left Off World Series Roster

Colon was left off the Royals' World Series roster and replaced by Jayson Nix, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports.

Analysis:

Colon scored the winning run in the AL Wild Card Game and appeared in the ninth inning of Game 2 of the ALCS. However, he'll be left off the roster in favor of the veteran Nix, who was not a member of the ALDS or ALCS roster. Colon hit .333 for the Royals this season but appeared in only 21 games, notching 49 plate appearances. With so much on the line at this point, the Royals are likely more comfortable with an extra veteran in the clubhouse.
