Iglesias (lower leg) is expected to be ready for spring training, the Detroit Free Press reports. "The doctors tell me he'll be fine," GM Dave Dombrowski said. "He's going to be ready for spring training, he's going to be ready to go, and he's over all of his [injuries]."

Analysis:

Stress fractures in both shins kept Iglesias out for the entire 2014 season, but the 24-year-old is ramping up his baseball activities, and it sounds like he'll be a full-go come spring training. Dombrowski is not, however, willing to anoint Iglesias the starting shortstop for 2015 just yet, since manager Brad Ausmus and the rest of the coaching staff haven't seen him play more than half an exhibition game. However, Dombrowski said he'd be "surprised" if Iglesias doesn't earn the everyday job.
