Rondon (elbow) is expected to be ready for the start of spring training, James Shmehl of MLive.com reports.

Analysis:

Although he'll be less than 11 months removed from Tommy John surgery when pitchers and catchers report, Rondon should be ready to go, according to GM Dave Dombrowki. A candidate for the setup role coming into 2014 spring training, Rondon averaged better than 99 miles per hour on his fastball during his first run in the majors in 2013 and is still just 23 years old.
