Brewers manager Ron Roenicke to return next season; members of coaching staff dismissed

Milwaukee Brewers manager Ron Roenicke will return for a fifth season, the team announced Friday.

The Brewers skipper won't be joined by two members of his staff, however, as the team said it will not be offering contracts to hitting coach Johnny Narron or first base coach Garth Iorg. Both coaches were under contract through Oct. 31.

Roenicke's job security came into question following the Brewers' disastrous second-half finish. Milwaukee lost 16 of its last 25 games to close out the year, missing the playoffs for the third straight season.

The 58-year-old Roenicke carries a club option for 2016.
