Dodgers manager Mattingly thinks he'll be back next year

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly isn't worried about his job security heading into 2015, despite the team's shortfalls this season.

Mattingly told reporters Thursday he's assuming he'll manage the club moving forward and that he doesn't expect any changes in the front office, despite reports general manager Ned Colletti is on the hot seat.

Mattingly is under contract through the 2017 season and received a glowing endorsement from team management.

"Off the charts," co-owner Magic Johnson said of Mattingly's work. "His performance has been one of the best. He had to manage all of the egos, and all of the stars."

The Dodgers, who were the early World Series favorites, won the National League West crown, but fell in four games to the St. Louis Cardinals in the NL divisional round.
