Alfredo Marte: Claimed By Angels
The Angels claimed Marte off waivers from the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Analysis:
Marte struggled mightily in 44 games with Arizona this season (.170/.221/.292), but was much better at Triple-A Reno, posting a .925 OPS with 11 homers and six steals in 78 games. He'll be hard-pressed to earn significant time in the Angels' outfield next season, even if there are multiple injuries, but Marte is still just 25 and is at worst quality organizational depth.
