Texas Rangers left-hander Joe Ortiz was claimed off waivers on Monday by the Cubs.
Analysis:
He was outrighted to Triple-A by the Rangers, but the Cubs deemed the lefty worthy of a spot on their 40-man roster. He posted a 4.23 ERA in 32 relief appearances for the Rangers in 2014.
