Lyle Overbay: 'I'm 99.9 percent sure that I'm going to call it a career'

Chris Humphreys / USA Today Sports

Milwaukee Brewers first baseman, and 13-year major-league vet, Lyle Overbay is pretty sure he's ready to hang up his cleats. The 37-year-old was fairly blunt about his intentions when speaking to MLB Network Radio on Wednesday:

If he does indeed decide to call it a career, Overbay will retire with a .266/.347/.429 slash line (106 OPS+), 1,355 hits, 356 doubles, and 151 home runs with the Brewers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Toronto Blue Jays, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees, and Atlanta Braves.

Overbay struggled with the Brewers in 2014, hitting .233/.328/.333 with just four home runs and 18 extra-base hits in 121 games. His best season came with the Blue Jays in 2006, when he hit .312/.372/.508 with 22 home runs and 46 doubles.
