Giants' Morse could be included on NLDS roster

San Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Morse wasn't healthy enough to be included on the team's wild-card roster, but manager Bruce Bochy believes he could get the slugger back for the National League Division Series if the team dispatches the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday night.

"Well, I think, if this goes on, he will activated at some point," Bochy said prior to the game. "He's just not ready today. Believe me. I wish he was. It would be nice to have coming off the bench, but he's not quite ready."

Morse has been out since Aug. 31 (excepting a failed comeback attempt on Sept. 19) with an oblique injury, but has progressed to the point where he can swing a bat comfortably in his rehab.

The Giants have until Friday to make roster decisions should they advance.

Morse hit .279 with 15 homers and 61 RBIs in 88 regular-season games and has 19 career postseason at-bats (.263 average) to his credit.
