Baltimore Orioles slugger Nelson Cruz was a Vegas long shot to be crowned this year's home run king, but his 40-homer campaign has some bettors laughing all the way to the bank.
The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook gave him 60/1 odds to accomplish the feat back in February, setting up a hearty payout for those who took a flyer on Cruz taking a liking to Camden Yards.
Miguel Cabrera, Giancarlo Stanton and Chris Davis were listed as the early favorites at 7/1.
Cruz's 40 homers are the fewest to lead the majors since Jesse Barfield of the Toronto Blue Jays belted 30 in 1986, according to ESPN Stats & Info.
