Report: Diamondbacks plan to name GM on Thursday

Arizona Diamondbacks chief baseball officer Tony La Russa will reportedly announce the team's next general manager this week.
The #Dbacks plan to announce their next GM on Thursday, and all indications point towards Dave Stewart while Dejon Watson still in running.

The Diamondbacks parted ways with former general manager Kevin Towers on Sept. 5, as La Russa stated that he sought a change in direction.
The fate of current manager Kirk Gibson will not be determined until after the season, but Nightengale notes that his days with the Diamondbacks appear to be coming to an end.
Entering Monday, the Diamondbacks (62-94) sit last in the National League West and will miss the playoffs for a third straight season.
