Joy R. Absalon / USA TODAY Sports

Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell will manage a team of MLB All-Stars on a tour of Japan, taking the place of Ron Washington, who resigned as manager of the Texas Rangers on Sept. 5, reports Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe.

The team is scheduled to play two exhibitions and five games during the November tour against Japan's national club.

Some of the players joining Farrell on the trip include Seattle Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano, Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones, and Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig.
