Giants' Pagan, Morse downgraded to doubtful for upcoming series with Dodgers

San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy is not optimistic about the chance of outfielders Angel Pagan and Michael Morse playing in a crucial series in Los Angeles vs. the Dodgers beginning Monday.

Pagan is dealing with an inflamed nerve in his lower back and has an appointment with Dr. Robert Watkins in Los Angeles, while Morse is en route to San Francisco for another MRI on his strained left oblique.

The Giants entered play Sunday 3 1/2 games back of the Dodgers for the National League West lead, and one game up on the Pittsburgh Pirates for the top wild-card spot.
