Brewers' Garza ejected after hitting Pirates' McCutchen with pitch for 2nd time

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Matt Garza is renowned for his pinpoint control, which probably didn't help his cause Saturday night. Garza was ejected in the fifth inning of the Brewers' crucial National League Central showdown with the Pittsburgh Pirates after hitting Andrew McCutchen with a pitch for the second time in the game.

Garza, who hit only two batters over his first 26 starts, also plunked the Pirates outfielder in the third inning. The Pirates retaliated in the fourth when Edinson Volquez buzzed Ryan Braun with an inside fastball, resulting in a warning for both teams from home plate umpire Marty Foster.

Garza held the Pirates to three hits over 4 2/3 scoreless innings before being replaced by Marco Estrada.

The Brewers began the day 4 1/2 games behind the Pirates for the final wild-card spot.
