National League Game Summary - Arizona at Colorado

Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Josh Rutledge hit a two-run homer, Eddie Butler tossed six solid innings for his first major-league win and the Colorado Rockies defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks, 5-1, on Saturday.

Corey Dickerson homered, tripled and drove in two runs, while Ben Paulsen hit an RBI single for the Rockies, who have won five straight games.

Butler (1-1) was strong in his second career start, surrendering just one run on five hits and one walk with a strikeout.

"It's a good start for Eddie," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. "He put is in position to win a game. He did a nice job."

Jake Lamb homered and Miguel Montero had three hits for Arizona, which has lost the first three games of this four-game set.

Trevor Cahill (3-12) dropped his fourth straight decision after allowing 10 hits and five runs with eight strikeouts across five frames.

"We were facing an extremely hot hitting ball club," Arizona Kirk Gibson said. "A couple of mistakes he made, they hit them out of the ball park."

Justin Morneau got aboard with a two-out single to left in the first inning and scored when Dickerson tripled to left-center field, giving the Rockies the early lead.

Charlie Blackmon led off the third by smacking a liner to the base of the wall in center for a triple and Rutledge followed with a two-run blast to center for a 3-0 lead.

Morneau kept the rally going with a double to right that David Peralta lost in the sun, moved to third on Dickerson's fly out to left-center field and scored on Paulsen's short flare to left.

Lamb got Arizona on the board with a solo shot to right with one out in the fifth, but Dickerson answered back in the bottom half with a leadoff blast into the bullpen in right for a 5-1 game.

Montero doubled for Arizona to start the seventh and moved to third, but was left stranded after Didi Gregorius struck out to end the frame.
