Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu hopes to begin throwing again this weekend as he battles shoulder inflammation.
He hopes to be available for the postseason.
"I'm pretty confident I will be able to come back by then," Ryu said via the Los Angeles Times.
Ryu received a cortisone injection in his throwing shoulder Monday and is still experiencing soreness from it, thus delaying his throwing program.
This is a storyline every Dodgers fan will be following closely as the team inches closer to a playoff berth. Ryu, who is 14-7 with a 3.38 ERA, is the final piece of a three-headed monster in a Dodgers rotation that boasts Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw.
