Charlie Morton: (Groin) Will Miss Sunday Start, Could Be Done For Season

Morton is dealing with groin, abdominal and hip pain and will miss his scheduled start Sunday, the Pittsburgh Tribune's Travis Sawchik reports.

Analysis:

He said he was discouraged by his bullpen session Thursday and will be evaluated next week, adding that surgery is a "possibility." It sounds like those chasing counting stats in single-season mixed leagues might be best served to move on from Morton. Vance Worley will get the start Sunday in Morton's place. The best-case scenario for Morton's owners is that he feels better next week and can make his final start of the season Sept. 26 in Cincinnati.
