Coghlan is out of the lineup Friday against the Dodgers.
Analysis:
Coghlan has started 10 of the Cubs' past 11 games in left field, but will take a seat Friday with southpaw Clayton Kershaw on the hill for the opposing Dodgers. Coghlan is slugging 81 points lower against left-handed pitching this season, so manager Rick Renteria likely wanted to get another right-handed bat in his lineup with the tough lefty on the mound. As a result, Junior Lake will take over in left field.
