Cardinals' Miller isn't expected to miss any time with bruised shin

St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Shelby Miller doesn't expect to miss his next start after taking a comebacker off the leg during Thursday's outing.

"I'll be ready to go by next time for sure," Miller told MLB.com. "Hopefully I'll get all my running and lifting in tomorrow and it won't hold me back. I think with our trainers and modern technology today, so to say, we have some stuff that heals bruises and soreness fairly quickly. We'll get all of that taken care of in the training room."

Miller was hit in the sixth inning by a ball off the bat of Milwaukee Brewers slugger Ryan Braun that conveniently deflected to first baseman Matt Adams for an out. Miller remained in the game and finished the sixth before being pinch hit for in the bottom half of the inning.

The 23-year-old has been exceptional in September, posting a 4-0 record to go with a 0.69 ERA in 26 innings.
